Guidance on information sharing

The Government Chief Privacy Officer has published guidance to help government agencies with sharing information responsibly and legally.

A resource hub for information sharing is now available on digital.govt.nz. It provides guidance to government agencies about sharing information lawfully, without damaging people’s privacy or undermining their trust. The guidance includes: 

• how to set up your information sharing activities safely, legally and effectively
• the different types of legal authority for sharing information
• types of information sharing agreements
• how to develop an information sharing agreement.
