Register of government data content requirements

This register is the definitive list of agreed government data content requirements in development or approved. Standardisation establishes consistent ways for describing and recording data across organisations. Consistency ensures there's only one way of talking about each different piece of information, helping us to:

  • maximise the value of data
  • create a more complete view to inform government policy and investment decisions
  • enable information sharing, and reconciling the data faster and more efficiently.

Each requirement covers a minimum compliance that needs to be met by all government organisations. Organisations should also take note of the preferred compliance (referred to in the base standard) and assess which meets their data needs.
