A file containing the geographic coordinates of polling locations for the 2011 and 2008 elections (and earlier if available)

Opening this data would solve the problem of…

Election results are already available by polling station, but spatial analysis of these results is not possible without geographic coordinates.

Thank you for your enquiry. The coordinates of the Polling Places used at the 2008 and 2011 General Elections are now available at our election results website. The 2008 data can be downloaded at http://electionresults.govt.nz/electionresults_2008/e9/html/statistics.html (see the links in Section 7.2). The 2011 data can be downloaded from at http://electionresults.govt.nz/electionresults_2011/e9/html/statistics.html (see the links in Section 8.2).
