I am looking to obtain a data set that can be used to give greater insight into the efficacy of targeted treatment regimes for prolonged concussion syndrome as compared to normal rest and rehabilitation. To do this, I am looking for several variables in this data set listed as such: *All data mentioned should be accumulated from the years 2010-2019 and tabulated so that I can see the data for each individual year. Each variable mentioned below should also be tabulated in the perspective of the total number of filed concussion claims to the ACC, the total number of filed concussion claims to the ACC in each province of New Zealand, the total number of filed concussion claims to the ACC per age group bracket for the whole of New Zealand and for each province of New Zealand, and the mechanism of injury for each concussion claim.* 1) A tally of any concussion claims filed to the ACC for the same patient more than once. (That is those patients that had repeated concussions compared to those that did not) 2) The portion of these filed concussion claims that were billed for services beyond 2 appointments, and for repeat patients who had made previous concussion claims. (Including a tally of how many claims were billed for services at each appointment number, i.e. this many claims required 3 appointments, this many 4, etc. if possible) 3) A tally of the services these each claim was billed for, including but not limited to Physio, occupational therapy, psychiatrist/clinical psychologist, medical review etc. for each category mentioned in '*', for those billed beyond 2 appointments, and for repeat claims made by those who had previously filed a concussion claim. !!!!!This is of particular interest!!!!! 4) Any other data that can give insight into the prognosis statistics of the patients that filed concussion claims to the ACC.
Opening this data would allow me to perform a data analysis that can determine the efficacy of targeted treatment regimes, such as the use of neurofeedback, over simple rest where the rehabilitation of a concussion injury is concerned. The statistical analysis I have asked for will give me the material to determine not only the efficacy of targeted treatment from specialists as a whole, but the risk variables for location, activity, age group and clinical history (i.e. repeated concussions). This is something that has not been achieved yet in New Zealand, and even from a global lens the big data surrounding prolonged post concussion syndrome is limited and lacking in its current state.
This data provides the material required for an in depth analysis into these variables mentioned from real world data.
