The Electoral Commission publishes the current stats on voter enrolment by electorate and age group each month, but historical data is not available. I am a human services design researcher. I would like to see this dataset made public for research purposes (only certain orgs can request this from the EC at the moment and I believe it is in the public interest for this information to be available to anyone. Ideally, we would be able to get this data by week, or at least month, to track the impact of media communications on enrolment rates on different demographics.

Track voter engagement by demographic over time and what levers work to increase engagement.
Allow us to compare historical voter enrolment rates over time, and map to significant world, local and media events.

This is an example of how I am using this data to visualise voter enrolment - I would be great if all historical data is published on line so month on month and YOY comparisons can be made. Would also be great, leading up to election, if weekly data could be published. For those of us doing the work to help drive voter enrolment, it seems limiting that only certain people can access this data, even if we are actually supporting the Electoral Commission's mission?
