I would like a summary of the number of claims, whether they are successful or not and the associated value of the claims for the last 5 years, (Month & YEAR ONLY) as they relate to incident around Manhole, pits and lids. i.e. trip on a manhole cover in the roadway, pit failing and falling with injury etc. I would like this in an excel sheet. I do not want any personal details
I am curious to the cost associated with injury caused by Manhole, pits and lids, and if there is a need for a national point to report issues before they cause injury.
give a material reason for further effort

01 April 2026 Kia ora, Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-046571 Thank you for your email of 6 March 2026, asking for the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):" I would like a summary of the number of claims, whether they are successful or not and the associated value of the claims for the last 5 years, (Month & YEAR ONLY) as they relate to incident around Manhole, pits and lids. i.e. trip on a manhole cover in the roadway, pit failing and falling with injury etc. I would like this in an excel sheet." Our response: The requested data is available at this link: https://catalogue.data.govt.nz/dataset/gov-046571-acc-data-on-claims-related-to-manholes Please refer to the notes and caveats for details about the data. Claim counts fewer than four Some of the values Table 2 only indicate that the claims count is fewer than 4 (denoted as <4) and one value is supressed and denoted as two dots (..). This limits the potential for particular individuals, or matters specific to certain individuals, from being identified. This decision has been made under section 9(2)(a) of the Act.
