We are in search of a residential property by property account of current rents paid, whether this can be achieved through capture with bond lodgment, or require an annual rental value update for each property. This would need to include property ID features such as address, valuation reference if possible, or LINZ property ID's. We do not require any detail around the landlord, nor the tenant, just purely the property data.

This data would greatly assist in the property sector as a whole, however for us personally around the valuation space, giving a database of owner-occupied properties, verse those used for investment purposes. Having access to rental data would also allow calculations of rental yields, which helps to give a more accurate market valuation for lending purposes.

There is currently no property to by property data sets available on a nationwide scale - this could be archived by reading out to all large-scale property management firms but does not build a complete picture.

At present all that is available is rental stats by region.

Having access to this data would give the property industry access to rental data much like the currrent property sales transactions, and DVR data allows.
