New Zealand is hosting events across 3 locations: Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Collaborative documenting

We (Open Data NZ) are collecting ideas, resources and challenges in a publicly editable and living Google doc. 

Please add any thoughts and ideas you have. You can also add your projects on the day of the event.

Open Data Day Wellington

Wellington's open data group is holding a mini-hackathon.

Open Data Day Wellington details

Venue: net.work, National Library of New Zealand.

Time: 9am to 4pm.

Cost: free.

Open Data Day Christchurch

The Christchurch open data group will be gathering to talk about:

  • some of Open Knowledge International's case studies
  • some case studies where a sliver of insight helped people launch a multi-billion dollar business
  • where data is heading.

Venue: Ed Hopper Cafe & Bar, 184 Clarence Street.

Time: 11am to 1pm.

Open Data Day Dunedin

Dunedin's open data group, together with IT Training and Development at the University of Otago, is holding an open data tutorial writing event. 

Over the course of an afternoon, you'll work together to create guides on how to use your favourite or most interesting sources of data.

Venue: 270 Leith Walk.

Time: 1 to 5pm.
